School Camp (Y4)

The 2013/14 Year 4 class’s took to the school field for a night under the starts. They enjoyed putting up their own tents and took part in many outdoor themed activities. The children (and teachers) thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Miss John used Windows Movie Maker to make this movie. (2013/14)

The Boneyard Rap (Y4)

Year 4 have been looking at the poem The boneyard Rap. The children have spent time learning and performing it. Eventually they decided to include the use of percussion instruments to enhance the performance. Miss John used a Windows Movie Maker to make this movie.

Dragon Dance (Y4)

Year 4 used their dragon topic to inspire their P.E. They created a series of dances and then took elements of each dance to create a whole class dance. (2014/15)

Dragon Traps (Y4)

A trailer of Year 4's Dragon topic. The children took part in a dragon egg adjective hunt; they made forest dragons to inspire their descriptive writing and they wrote instructions on how to build their dragon traps. Miss John use iMovie to make this film. (2014/15)

Plant Life (Y5)

Year 5 students have been looking at plants. They have made a short film to demonstrate some of their new leaning. For this film the children carried out all of the filming themselves and then used iMovie and Green Screen to layer the different videos and backing tracks. (2014/15)

Pride (Y5)

This term we have been focusing on what pride means to us as it one of our 6 ‘School Values’. Year 5 have have made a short film explaining what pride means to them. The children used iMovie and Green Screen to make these movies. (2014/15)

Festival of Youth Sports

On Saturday 2nd June members of the Athletics Football clubs took part in the annual Festival of Youth Sports held at Filton College. We all had had lots of fun at the festival. Overall the Athletics team placed 8th out of 15 schools. The football team placed 7th out of 11 schools. Well done everybody. (2014/15)

Camp Time-Lapse (Y4)

During the first week of June, Year 4 enjoyed camping on the field. They had a brilliant time and had the opportunity to try many new things. Here a is a short time-lapse video showing a brief overview. We used an Apple iPad to record the time-lapse and was was recording for approximately 4 hours. (2014/15)

Stomp (Y4)

Year 4 have been having weekly stomp sessions, using everyday objects to create different rhythms and sounds. Here is a video of all of year 4 practicing rhythms. There will be a video of Year 4 performing their stomp creations soon. (2014/15)

Hot Air Balloon

During the last week of June, a hot air balloon land on the school field. The children were very excited and some even had the chance to sit in the basket. Simon, the pilot, allowed us to interview him. The video was made and edited by the Stanbridge Digital Leaders. (2014/15)

Olympiad (Y2 & KS2)

Thursday 25th June saw the return of our annual Inter School Olympiad. During the morning all Year 2 students competed against other local schools. Then KS2 pupils arrived during the afternoon. The competition was fierce as each pupil battled to claim victory for their school. (2014/15)

KS1 Sports Day

Thursday 18th June saw the return of Sports Day (third time lucky). The children all competed at a very high standard and truly gave it their all. The Digital leaders have put together two short videos to celebrate a great day had by all. The KS2 Sports Day video can be found above. (2014/15)

Willow Pattern Story (Y3)

Year 3 have been reading "The Willow Pattern Story" in English. We developed a ‘Talk for Writing’ script and worked in groups to act this out in class. (2014/15)

Egg Challenge (Y3)

On Thursday 2nd July, 3B met their new Teacher, Miss Vaughan, for Year 4 and took part in a number of fun activities. They worked as groups to build a protective shield for an egg which they then tested by throwing it across the field. It was very egg-citing and thankfully all eggs survived! (2014/15)

Folly Farm (Y1)

On Tuesday 23rd June, Year 1 had a fantastic day at Folly Farm, learning all about Minibeasts! They followed a Minibeast trail, went pond dipping and made Minibeast worlds in the heart of the woods. Here is a snippet of our fun filled day (created by the Stanbridge Digital Leaders). (2014/15)

School in China link

This year we made links with a school in China, The Number 11 Primary School in Liupanshui, Guizhou. At Easter Ms Minter went to visit and teach at the school; this film gives you an idea of what it is like and what she did there. We hope to make further visits to China and welcome some staff and children here. (2014/15)

Cattle Country (Y3)

Year 3 went on their school trip to Cattle Country Adventure Park. The children had great fun climbing on tractors, keeping watch from castles, bouncing on trampolines and paddling canoes! Have a little look at all of the things we got up to! (2014/15)

Engineering Week

Our Mission: Investigate an element of modern day engineering and work with your teacher to explore improvements and innovation. Our classes made everything from laser cutters and cargo containers to suspension bridges and burglar alarms. Year 6 even got to wire a car with a motor and LED headlights. (2014/15)

Zoo Trip (Y2)

On the 7th July, Year 2 had a fabulous time visiting the zoo! With the rain holding off, the children’s favourite's included the penguins, a pair of impressive Asiatic lions, a group of lemurs and the new attraction- Gorilla Island! We really enjoyed the trip and hope you enjoy the video too! (2014/15)

Dinosaur Invasion! (Y5)

It was just a normal day when… Dinosaurs invaded Stanbridge! During the last week of term 6 Year 5 pupils took on the challenge of creating a film with a narrative voice over. They used Green Screen filming, iMovie and their imaginations to bring the films to life. We hope you enjoy watching. (2014/15)

In June 2015, Year 4 enjoyed experiencing outdoor activities and camping out on our school field. Year 4 pupils designed and made their own mud flags and developed their team-working skills by building a tent and taking part in many different team challenges! (2015/16)

In June 2015, Year 4 enjoyed experiencing outdoor activities and camping out on our school field. Year 4 enjoyed a BBQ with their families and friends, made a fire, sang camp songs and ate marshmallows! Yum! Mr Williams even recorded footage of the badgers in our woodland area while we slept!
